Discovering Liverpool, & The Wirral

Not just famous for ‘The Beatles’ and its musical heritage, Liverpool also has the largest collection of museums and galleries in the UK outside London. This tour includes a step on guided tour of this fascinating city, a ‘Ferry cross the Mersey’ and a tour of the beautiful ‘Port Sunlight village’ followed by a full afternoon tea, and the Royal Liver Building 360° tour!

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Monday – Our luxury coach will journey up to our hotel on the Welsh Borders. There will be tea, coffee, and bara brith waiting for us on arrival. Time to settle in before this evenings dinner

 

Tuesday – After a full English breakfast we will enjoy a fully guided tour (by coach) of the city of Liverpool. After a mornings tour with our guide you will have the rest of the day to explore this lovely city from the famous Albert Dock.

 

Wednesday – This morning we take you to the beautiful Wirral with its miles of coastline and seaside villages. We are visiting the most famous of these villages, ‘Port Sunlight’ built at the end of the 19^th century and originally the lever factory. Over 30 different architects were involved in the building of the village, a mixture of architectural styles enhanced in a park setting. We will enjoy a step on guided tour before returning for you to visit the museum and art gallery in the centre of this beautiful village. This afternoon we continue to Birkenhead in the Wirral and Thurstaston Common for a full afternoon tea (at lunch time) at ‘Benty Farm’ tea rooms. A delicious treat before returning back to our hotel to relax before dinner tonight.

 

Thursday – Today we return to the city of Liverpool to enjoy the ‘Ferry cross the Mersey’ an hour-long cruise up the Mersey for wonderful views of the city from the river.  We will then be taking you back on land for the ‘Royal Liver Building’ 360° Tower tour experience. In this iconic Liver building, you’ll become immersed in a world class digital projection show inside the iconic clock tower! Enjoy views of the Liverpool skyline from the viewing platform for a ‘birds eye view’ of this impressive city. Free time to explore the city this afternoon at your own pace before returning to the hotel late afternoon.

 

Friday – We leave our hotel and begin our journey home to Wiltshire with comfort stops on route after a memorable break.
