Discover the best of the Austrian Tyrol with its imposing mountains, flower filled meadows, stunning glaciers, and crystal-clear lakes on this 9-day tour staying in the charming resort of Seefeld.

 

Tour Itinerary

           

Saturday – Our luxury coach will depart this morning and head to Folkestone for our Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. We continue onto Germany for our overnight stay and evening meal. Comfort stops on route.

 

Sunday – We leave Germany after a good breakfast and continue our journey to the Austrian Tyrol. Enjoy the changing landscapes as we arrive in Seefeld and our hotel for the next 6 nights. Time to settle in before this evening’s meal.

 

Monday – A coach free day, today and we begin with a carriage ride. The horses will come to our hotel, and we’ll climb aboard the carriages for a scenic ride around the lake and town of Seefeld. The rest of the day is free to explore the town or relax in the hotel gardens and indoor swimming pool.

 

Tuesday – Today we travel round 29 bends and up to 2,750 metres above sea level to the Tyrol’s highest glacier, The Kaunertal. Once at the top you will have the opportunity to walk on the Glacier itself and even explore the crevasses where you can walk through and admire and even touch the glacier ice that is at least 100 years old! There is also a cable car for spectacular views taking you to an observation platform to see the three different countries at 3108 meters high, Austria, Italy & Switzerland. 

 

Wednesday – Today we visit the pretty village of Pertisau on the Achensee Lake, beginning with a stroll over to Christina’s, a lovely restaurant next to the coach park where we enjoy the best Apple Strudel & coffee in the village! We will then join the boat for a lovely cruise around the lake.

 

Thursday – This morning we take you by coach to Jenbach to catch a traditional steam train to the beautiful alpine resort of Mayrhofen known for its fabulous ski-slopes in the winter months, you may ride the local cable car for stunning views, or simply enjoy lunch in one of the towns many cafes and restaurants. Back to our hotel late afternoon to relax before dinner.

 

Friday – Your second free day to relax and enjoy Seefeld and the hotel facilities.

 

Saturday – Sadly we say goodbye to Austria and make our way back to our overnight hotel with suitable stops on the way.

 

Sunday – We leave our Hotel and make our way back to Calais and our Eurotunnel crossing, once back in the UK we head to Wiltshire and our waiting taxis early evening after a memorable holiday.
