This year we have extended our Christmas tour to 9 days so why not join us in the ultimate surroundings for this very special time of the year. Set amongst snow-capped mountains with the sound of sleigh bells never too far away, share with us the beautiful country of Austria at Christmas time.

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Friday – Our luxury coach will depart this morning, and head to Folkestone where we will catch the Eurotunnel train to Calais, from there we make our way to our overnight hotel in Germany for our evening meal with comfort stops on route.

 

Saturday - We depart after breakfast and travel to Austria arriving in plenty of time to settle in before dinner. Welcome drink on arrival with comfort stops on route.

 

Sunday – A free morning for you to explore the area or relax before a full hot lunch today in our hotel. Later this afternoon we head to Innsbruck ‘The City of the Alps’ where you will be able to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the Christmas markets. An opportunity to enjoy a light snack from all the delicious options the market has to offer before rejoining the coach for a hot drink and festive treats! We then take you to experience an authentic Tyrolean evening show with different instruments, Tyrolean dances, ‘shoe slapping’ and yodelling, a really fun evening for us all.

 

Monday – This morning we experience the magic of a horse drawn sleigh ride though the glorious alpine scenery in nearby Pertisau. After this wonderful experience you will enjoy a steaming bowl of Austrian soup before we return to our hotel for coffee, cake, and Christmas stollen and to sing Austrian Christmas songs before dinner.

 

Tuesday – ‘Christmas Eve’ – This morning we walk you to a nearby 14^th century farmhouse museum giving an insight of how people in the valley used to live, work, and hunt years ago. On this special day in the Christmas calendar, we will enjoy a live rendition of the Christmas story in their old barn. We then take you into the small city of Rattenberg, for a demonstration of traditional Austrian apple strudel making. We are including a hot drink and slice of this delicious Austrian treat, before free time to explore the local shops famous for its beautiful glass wear. Back to the hotel for a buffet evening meal. You may wish to attend Mass at the local church this evening and the hotel are kindly laying on Christmas stollen and mulled wine on your return.

 

Wednesday – ‘Christmas Day’ - Happy Christmas to you all! A relaxing morning today to enjoy the festivities, open your presents before we enjoy a traditional Austrian Christmas lunch. This afternoon join Nigel and Kim for some festive fun and laughter and our own version of the hilarious ‘Scattergories’ game. This evening we enjoy a light buffet to complete our Christmas day.

 

Thursday – ‘Boxing Day’ – Today, we return to the pretty town of nearby Pertisau to ride the Karwendel Bergbahn cable car for amazing winter wonderland views up to the restaurant for an opportunity for some lunch. After this panoramic experience we return to our hotel for some more festive fun before this evening’s meal.

 

Friday - Sadly we say goodbye to Austria and make our way back to Germany to our overnight hotel with suitable stops on the way.

 

Saturday - We leave Germany and make our way back up to Calais and our Eurotunnel crossing, once back in the UK we head to Wiltshire and our waiting taxis early evening after a wonderful Alpine Christmas experience.
