This tour combines exploration of the Ayrshire coast including hopping over to the beautiful Isle of Arran. Featured excursions includes Culzean Castle, Robert Burns Museum, a day on the Isle of Arran including Brodick Castle, Drumlanrig Castle and the beautiful beaches of Ayr & Troon.

Tour Itinerary

 

Thursday – We leave Wiltshire and head north to our 4* hotel in Irvine, our base for the next 6 nights. Comfort stops on route.

 

Friday to Tuesday – We will be including the following (specific dates to be confirmed).

 

A full day over on the local ferry to the beautiful Isle of Arran for a visit to Brodick Castle. Dramatically set against the backdrop of Goatfell, the grand red sandstone baronial-style castle has stunning views over Brodick Bay and boasts impressive gardens. Time to explore the estate and some free time in the town of Brodick before re-boarding the ferry for the 55-minute sailing back to the mainland.

 

A costume guided tour of Culzean Castle and country park, once home to the Clan Kennedy, an ancient Scottish family descended from Robert the Bruce.

Visit to Drumlanrig Castle, a beautiful pink palace with over 600 years of history. A tour of this stunning castle to discover what makes the building so special from family members to the art collection which adorns its walls. Explore the vast and scenic grounds with its rock gardens and formal landscaped lawns to the woodland areas and not forgetting the castle tearoom!

 

A visit to the Robert Burns Birthplace museum and Burns cottage. Scotland’s favourite son and literary genius.

Visits to the beautiful beaches of Ayr and Troon.

 

A free day on the resort with tea/coffee and shortbread at the hotel in the afternoon.

 

Wednesday – Time to leave Scotland and return home to Wiltshire after a memorable holiday.
