This fabulous highflying tour will take us on a super variety of excursions to suit you all, from the enigmatic tour of Bletchley Park and Britain’s best preserved WWII airfield including the Spitfire and the iconic Concorde, to a relaxing cruise on Rutland, the beautiful Barnsdale Gardens and the Wimpole estate.

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Monday – Our luxury coach will depart Wiltshire this morning and head to Huntingdon and our hotel for the next 5 nights. Time to relax before dinner this evening. Comfort stops on route.

 

Tuesday – Our destination this morning is the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Britain’s best-preserved WWII airfield. Its story reflects the landmark achievements made in aviation history and incorporates a series of museum and exhibitions including the 1940’s Operations Room ‘Airspace,’ (featuring 30 iconic aircraft) The American Air Museum and the Battle of Britain Exhibition. You will have a whole day to explore all the exhibits at leisure at this fascinating attraction.

 

Wednesday – This morning we visit Barnsdale Gardens giving us the opportunity to explore 38 individual gardens set in an 8-acre site inspiring a range of garden styles and planting scheme that have been referred to as a (theme park for gardeners). This afternoon we enjoy a cruise on Rutland Water, a large horseshoe shaped reservoir set within 3,000-acres of beautiful countryside in the East Midlands region of England. Back to the hotel with an opportunity to use the leisure facilities.

 

Thursday – Today we head to Bletchley Park, where Alan Turing and his colleagues helped crack Germany’s Enigma code during WWII. We uncover Bletchley Parks remarkable story by visiting the unglamorous office, the library, wartime garages and a series of interactive exhibits.

 

Friday – A morning visit to the beautiful city of Cambridge followed by a visit to the magnificent Wimpole estate, a stunning 2,500-acre country estate complete with the handsome 17^th century Wimpole hall. Explore the impressive Georgian interiors, stroll through the walled gardens and ancient parkland, and enjoy the gift shop & café on site.

 

Saturday – After a full English breakfast we head back home to our waiting taxis after a fascinating tour in Cambridgeshire.
