Join us for an opportunity to experience a magical festive treat at Chatsworth House at Christmas time. Each year this stunning building creates a different theme, and the house is transformed into a magical wonderland as the grounds and buildings are adorned with fairy lights and decorated Christmas trees. With its Christmas market to enjoy outside and the many rooms traditionally decorated inside, this experience will definitely get you in a festive mood. We are also including a day in Buxton with a full afternoon tea, and a free day in the Yorkshire wildlife park where we will be staying in ‘The Hex’ hotel in Doncaster.

Tour Itinerary

 

Monday – We head to Yorkshire and our hotel for the next 4 nights. Comfort stops on route.         

 

Tuesday – We begin our day with a visit to Bakewell, idyllically situated on the banks of the River Wye it’s the biggest town in the Peak District with plenty of charming shops selling the famous ‘Bakewell Puddings!’ We continue our day with the highlight of the tour, our visit to the fabulous ‘Chatsworth House’ at this festive time of the year. Discover the magic of their Christmas markets before you enter the house, then prepare to be amazed at the beautifully decorated rooms and gardens transformed into a themed winter wonderland for you to explore at leisure. We will stay until dusk to appreciate the hundreds of fairy lights and light shows that surround the house and grounds. So wrap up warm and enjoy festive food & drink while you explore the many stalls in the traditional Christmas market at the entrance to the house.

 

Wednesday – After the excitement of yesterday we have given you passes today to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park which is next to our hotel. This fabulous park has polar bears, tigers, camels, giraffes, lions, and many more exciting animals with planned talks and opportunities to observe a huge variety of wild animals roaming freely in their own spaces. Explore at leisure, your pass allows you entry from 10am to 4pm for today.

 

Thursday – Today we visit the spa town of Buxton, England’s highest market town at 1,000 feet above sea level. Full of history, Victorian & Georgian architecture as well as gardens and an array of shops and cafes. At lunchtime we are including a full afternoon tea at a Georgian tearoom in the leafy square opposite the opera house. Enjoy this quintessential English delight in beautiful surroundings including a selection of sandwiches, scones, jam, and cream and individual cakes all with tea & coffee. Back to the hotel to relax before tonight’s evening meal.

 

Friday – Time to leave our hotel and head south to Wiltshire and our waiting taxis after a memorable break.
