Steam into the festive season through Lancashire’s very own winter wonderland. Wind past Christmas card villages and fairy light festooned stations whilst tucking into a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings! Sit back and relax in a pullman-style dinning carriage to enjoy this distinctive experience. This year we are including Manchester’s German Christmas markets, and the famous Lancashire Bury market for all your Christmas shopping, and a canal cruise with tea, coffee and mince pies.
Tour Itinerary
Monday – We depart Wiltshire and travel up towards Lancashire and our hotel for the next 4 nights. Enjoy a complementary welcome glass of wine with dinner tonight. Comfort stops on route.
Tuesday – We begin our day with a scenic canal cruise on a festively decorated barge on the Lancaster canal. Enjoy a hot drink and mince pies through the peaceful countryside for an hour before some free time to explore the fabulous garden centre of Barton Grange. Back to the hotel mid-afternoon to relax before dinner.
Wednesday – Today we are starting the day with a visit to the famous ‘Bury market’. An opportunity to pick up a bargain and do your Christmas shopping! We continue our day with the highlight of the week and our festive Christmas lunch on the East Lancashire railway. We will enjoy a glass of fizz as we settle in the Pullman-style carriages all set for our 3 course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, finishing off with tea, coffee, and mince pies. This 2.3/4-hour journey will certainly be a dining experience with distinction!
Friday – After a leisurely breakfast we start our journey home arriving late afternoon in Wiltshire and your waiting taxis.
