This 5-day scenic tour based in Scarborough includes a nostalgic steam train journey from Pickering to Whitby, the fine regency country house ‘Scampston Hall and Gardens’ The Scarborough Fair collection and an afternoon on the golden sands of Filey beach.

Tour Itinerary

Tuesday – We leave Wiltshire and head up to Yorkshire and our hotel in Scarborough for the next 4 nights. Welcome tea and coffee on arrival, plenty of time to settle in before tonight’s evening meal. Comfort stops on route.

Wednesday – Today we begin our day in Pickering where we’ll enjoy a nostalgic team train journey up to the seaside town of Whitby. We are including a nice cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake to compliment your journey while you enjoy the beauty of the dramatic moorland landscapes and once in Whitby, you’ll have a free afternoon to enjoy this popular fishing port famous for its superb fish and chips! The coach will take us back to the hotel from here late afternoon.

Thursday – This morning we are taking you the short distance to the magnificent working collection of vintage cars, steam engines, vintage fairground rides and mechanical organs at ‘The Scarborough Fair Collection’. A couple of hours here to enjoy the nostalgia and ride on the ‘Golden Galloping Horses’ or the ghost train if you dare! We’ll return back to the hotel for a free afternoon to relax and enjoy the stunning beach views from the terrace or if you prefer, we’ll drop you into town on the way back.

Friday – This morning we visit the beautiful Scampston Hall and walled garden, one of the finest regency country houses in North Yorkshire. Enjoy a guided tour of the house with its stunning interiors and art collection before seeing the spectacular contemporary gardens. This afternoon we will be visiting the golden sandy beach of Filey. This quaint seaside town has a picturesque tree lined path down to the best of Yorkshires coastlines. Free time for lunch or an ice-cream along the promenade.

Saturday – Time to leave Yorkshire and head back to Wiltshire after a memorable holiday by the seaside.
