The wonderful resort of Riva Del Garda is the perfect base to experience the delights of Italy’s largest lake ‘Lake Garda’. With our hotel on the shores of this beautiful lake in a pedestrianised location and surrounded by beautiful mountains, join us for some Italian spring sunshine. We are including a private boat trip to the glorious resorts of Limone & Malcesine, and the beautiful resorts of Sirmione, Lake Molveno, Bardolino, Lazise and a 3-course Italian lunch including wine and water on Saturday afternoon in a speciality Italian restaurant!

 

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Sunday – Our Luxury coach departs this morning and heads to Folkestone for our Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. From there we head to the German border town of Saarbrucken and our overnight hotel for our evening meal. Comfort stops on route.

 

Monday – After breakfast we continue our journey down to Italy, travelling through France & Switzerland arriving early evening at our hotel on the shores of Lake Garda, our base for the next 7 nights. A welcome cocktail on arrival.

Tuesday – Your first free day to explore the area and relax on the hotel terrace on the 4^th floor which is dressed with tables, chairs and sun lounges to enjoy the lake views.

 

Wednesday – Today we visit another of Italy’s beautiful lakes, ‘Lake Molveno’. This lake marks the boundary between the Brenta Dolomites to the west and Paganella Mount Gazza to the southeast. This alpine lake of natural origin has proclaimed to be the cleanest and most beautiful lake in Italy surrounded by shaded benches and trees and well-kept lawns. Free time for lunch and relaxation.

 

Thursday – A coach free day today as we have chartered a boat to take us to the beautiful resorts of Malcesine and Limone. With a couple of hours at each resort and time to relax on board between locations, we are giving you a perfect opportunity to see lake Garda other than by road. Arriving back to Riva late afternoon to relax before dinner.

 

Friday – Today we enjoy the scenic drive down Garda’s east coast to the resort of Bardolino and today is Market Day! Pick up a bargain before we continue to the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Lake Garda, the peninsula of Sirmione with its lovely, moated castle and medieval centre. The fabulous, pedestrianised town hosts more Italian ice cream parlours than anywhere else on Lake Garda with so many flavours to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

 

Saturday – This morning we visit the old lakeside town of Lazise with its paved promenade and harbour. This wonderful old town with its 12^th century church of San Nicole is known for its frescoes, while the Scaliger Castle can be admired from the outside. An opportunity for a browse around the shops and a coffee before we take you to an Italian country restaurant for a local speciality lunch including a grand selection of appetizers, homemade pasta, desert, wine and water, an authentic Italian experience.

 

Sunday – Your second free day at leisure to explore the town or relax.

 

Monday – Sadly we say goodbye to Italy and return to Germany for our overnight hotel.

 

Tuesday – After a good breakfast we head to Calais and our Eurotunnel crossing back to the UK. Your taxis will be waiting for you on our return to Wiltshire after a memorable break in Italy.
